Oregon's trust in "The Process" survives ultimate betrayal
It was Albert Einstein who said, "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." The Oregon football program has a different name for it: "The Process." They've lived by its creed all season long. They credited everyone's dedication to it for allowing them to battle through numerous injuries and hiccups on the way to Oregon's second national title shot in five years.
"Brothers" reunite in Dallas for a shot at glory
Oregon's Dwayne Stanford and Adolphus Washington will already know each other quite well when the Ducks and Buckeyes face off in Monday's College Football Playoff Championship Game. Natives of Cincinnati and classmates at Robert A. Taft High School, both lauded their former teammate's rise from what Stanford called the "most-inner city" to to the biggest stage in college football.

Chances are if you were a skill player on Oregon's offense, you too would have had to respond to Darren Carrington – a key performer in the Rose Bowl with 165 yards and two touchdowns – being left in Eugene after he failed an NCAA-administered drug test.

Young leads Ducks over rival Beavers to open Pac-12 play
Oregon senior Joseph Young knew coming into this season there would be some games where he would have to carry his Ducks to victory. Saturday's 343rd edition of Civil War basketball presented him that challenge, and Young responded with 27 points on 10-15 shooting (5-6 from beyond the arc) as Oregon (10-3) defeated Oregon State (9-4) 71-59 in both teams' first Pac-12 conference game of the season.

Tyner wants to prove a point against Florida State
Thomas Tyner has some unfinished business to attend to on Thursday. When it comes to Oregon's running game, freshman running back Royce Freeman and his All-American debut have been the center of attention for the majority of the season. With as much focus as has been on Freeman and fellow freshman Dalvin Cook of Florida State, it's easy to forget the presumed starter coming into 2014 was Tyner, a sophomore from Aloha, Ore., who was one of the highest-rated recruits to ever come out of the state.

Oregon wins Pac-12, secures spot in College Football Playoff
It won't be official until around 10 a.m. Sunday morning, but Duck fans can start looking at 2015 through rose-colored glasses. Heisman favorite Marcus Mariota accounted for 336 total yards and five touchdowns and the Oregon defense held an offense averaging 481 yards-per-game to just 25 in the first half as the Ducks won their third Pac-12 Championship since 2010, 51-13, over the seventh-ranked Arizona Wildcats.

Civil Warlords: Ducks continue streak over Beavers
Referring to Oregon's (11-1) 47-19 trouncing of in-state rival Oregon State (5-7) as the 118th playing of the Civil War seems almost unfair to Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant; none of their battles were ever this lopsided. I'm really proud of how we came out in all phases," said Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich.

Oregon rolls Royce over Washington, 45-20
A week after lamenting their inability to sustain a high level of play for four quarters against the UCLA Bruins, the #9 Oregon Ducks (6-1) took it to the Washington Huskies (5-2) for the full sixty minutes Saturday, notching a convincing 45-20 victory. The win marks Oregon's 11th consecutive victory over their rivals to the North.

Gavrylyuk makes annual pilgrimage to ‘musical home’
Alexander Gavrylyuk performs Mozart’s Rondo in D Major during a solo recital Wednesday in the Amphitheater. One of Chautauqua’s favored sons makes his return to the Amphitheater stage this weekend, and he’s bringing another transcendent Chautauquan with him. At 8:15 p.m. Saturday, pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk will make his ninth appearance as a soloist with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, this time under the direction of guest conductor Daniel Boico.

Three’s a party: Hangen, Amram and Radnofsky present Chautauqua debut of ‘Ode to Lord Buckley’
Violinists of the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra perform Tuesday evening in the Amphitheater. Andy Warhol once said that one’s company and two’s a crowd. But three, he said, is a party. At 8:15 p.m. tonight in the Amphitheater, the party will include guest conductor Bruce Hangen, who will highlight David Amram’s “Ode to Lord Buckley; Concerto for Alto Saxophone” with soloist Kenneth Radnofsky.

Concerto connections abound in tonight’s CSO concert
Two days ago, guest conductor Cristian Macelaru led the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra in a program featuring friend and cellist Johannes Moser. At 8:15 p.m. tonight in the Amphitheater, Macelaru leads his second of two concerts as part of his audition to be the next music director of the CSO. Again, he brings an intensely personal connection to the stage along with violin soloist Augustin Hadelich, a longtime Chautauqua favorite.

CSO celebrates America, with some help from ‘Africa’
Chautauquans will hear the drums of the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra echoing at 8 p.m. tonight in the Amphitheater as CSO principal timpanist Stuart Chafetz leads the the first of two symphony pops concerts. Along with timeless music by George Gershwin and George M. Cohan, patrons of tonight’s concert will be treated to worldwide favorites, which include songs by the Beatles and ’80s rock group Toto.

I am a senior at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication. A lifelong resident of Eugene, Oregon, I cover the Oregon Ducks for 247Sports' DuckTerritory.com after previous stints with SB Nation and the Oregon Daily Emerald

In a departure from my wheelhouse, I spent the summer of 2014 as a reporting intern for The Chautauquan Daily in Chautauqua, NY. I served as a beat reporter covering the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, the Logan Chamber Music Series, and other assignments including mini-profiles of former New York Times executive Jill Abramson and Reuters' Brian Winter.

After graduation in the spring of 2015, I aspire to cover sports for a major metro publication, work the beat of a high-level college program, or for a collegiate athletic department. Failing that, I have a pact with a friend at Boston University that, if we both flame out of journalism, we'll open a Jewish deli in Eugene.

When people ask me what I want to do with my degree, I tell them I just like to write. No matter what form the industry takes over the next five, 10, 20 years, I'm strapped in and along for the ride.
